Surveyors have reported that business demand for commercial property fell in the third quarter of 2007. This is the first time that the net balance has turned negative in over two years. Investor demand for commercial property turned negative across all three sectors in the third quarter with approximately a third more surveyors reporting falls than rises. The biggest declines in capital values occurred within the office sector which showed the net balance dropping to -17.3 from +35.6 in the second quarter.
