Amend the Building Regulations 2000 (Reg 2) and the Building (Approved Inspectors etc.) Regulations 2000 (Reg 3). In particular, clarify the energy efficiency requirements for fixed building services; amend the circumstances in which persons carrying out work to fixed building services must notify local authorities and approved inspectors that those services have been commissioned in accordance with Building Regulations; extend the descriptions of building work for which a person carrying out the work does not need to notify the local authority; amend the time limit provisions for notifying an approved inspector that fixed building services have been commissioned in accordance with Building Regulations; and amend the list of self-certification schemes. Coming into force 2 January 2008 (Regs 2(1), 2(4), 4) and 6 April 2008 (2(2), 2(3), 2(5), 3).
