Presents a summary of results from the 2007 Scottish Vacant and Derelict Land Survey (SVDLS), the 17th in the series. It is the only national data source for vacant and derelict land in Scotland. It highlights that there were 10,240 hectares of derelict and urban vacant land of which 26% were urban vacant and 74% were derelict. Since 2002, there has been a decrease of 448 hectares in the total amount of derelict and urban vacant (from 10,687 hectares in 2002 to 10,240 hectares in 2007). Attributed to land being brought back into productive use or being removed due to naturalisation. An average of 616 hectares of derelict and urban vacant land was brought back into use each year since 2002.
