Presents the government's plans for the improvement of surface water drainage. Aims to resolve existing problems and prepare for the effects of climate change. Proposes the establishment of Surface Water Management Plans in order to coordinate efforts of all stakeholders; the clarification of responsibility for creation and management of Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems; and review of the automatic right to connect to the water system. This consultation was announced in the government's water policy document (L142377). Responses are due by 30 April 2008.
