Asks for feedback on whether construction contracts should include clauses which require contracting parties to adhere to sustainability terms. Sustainability would apply throughout the supply chain and relate to the specification of construction products and the construction process. The consultation paper contains a list of sustainability items that might be covered in the contract documents. These include carbon emissions/consumption of energy/consumption of water/waste management associated with the construction process/end use of the project, origin of construction materials, commercial vehicle movements, and maintenance of biodiversity. Consultation closes 29 February 2008.
