A consultation on draft guidance and regulations related to new powers for local authorities contained in the Housing (Scotland) Act 2006. The Act enables local authorities to assist and, if necessary, compel owners to improve the condition of their property. There is also a new approach to assisting owners in adapting houses to meet the needs of disabled occupants. The draft guidance is in six volumes: preparing and delivering; housing renewal areas and repair, improvement and demolition; maintenance; tolerable standard; scheme of assistance; proposals for a National Trusted Trader Framework. Comments are invited on the consultation by 1 July 2008.
