RICS housing market survey United Kingdom [electronic resource] July 2008

RICS housing market survey United Kingdom July 2008 [electronic resource] - London RICS 2008 - RICS Housing Market Survey United Kingdom July 2008 .

Survey reports a rise in the RICS house price balance for the third consecutive month (although the balance remains strongly negative). 83.9% more Chartered Surveyors reported a fall than a rise in house prices, a decrease from 86.9% in June. The trend of increased difficulty in obtaining firm credit is demonstrated by the continuing collapse in transactions. The average number of transactions per surveyor (over the last three months) fell to 14.4 from last month's figure of 15.3, setting a new low for activity since this survey began. Sales expectations, however, are improving slightly, as serious home buyers are returning the market and some sellers are selling their properties at pragmatic values.
