Legislation allows for a procedure to enable tenant management organisations (TMOs) to enter into agreements with local housing authorities to provide housing management services. It sets out: what TMOs are; the criteria they must meet to take over housing management services and clarifies what assistance local housing authorities must provide during any transition of control. The appointment of an approved assessor is also stipulated for the assessment of the feasiblity of TMO proposals. Comes into force 1 October 2008.
