Seeks views on proposals to amend Schedules A1 and 1A of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. Schedule A1 gives protection to the nest sites of specified bird species, and 1A sets out those bird species which are protected from harassment. At present, only the white-tailed, or sea eagle is specified in these Schedules. This consultation proposes that protection be extended to the golden eagle and osprey, and potentially also to a number of other bird species. Deadline for comments is 28 February 2009.
