A semi-annual review of rents, vacancy, development and trends in the retail sector across the United States. Reports that retail sales fell in October for the third successive month, with housing related areas such as furniture and DIY stores seeing YTD sales shrink. The fastest growth (excluding petrol and non-store retailers) was in grocery stores, with YTD growth of 6.1%. Predicts that conditions will not improve until the second half of 2009 at the earliest, with levels of construction falling and levels of vacancy rising.
