Intended as an overview of the concepts involved in procuring the services of a project delivery team: the basic principles should be applicable to both construction projects and service contracts. Sets out the key steps in an effective procurement process with a view to helping all parties in the procurement process identify the best approach. However, it is not intended as a detailed procurement manual and so does not cover all eventualities. Appendix contains a self-assessment tool which may be used to assess the capabilities of an existing procurement team and anticipate future professional skills which might be needed.
