Reports that in India growth in bank lending has slowed dramatically, with the year on year increase falling from over 30% in late September to around 18%. India also faces deflation as real estate outlook worsens. Predicts no imminent recovery in US housing market, despite a recent rise in housing starts and building permits in February. In the Euro area M3 lending contracted further, whilst in the UK mortgage approvals have risen, with the January British Bankers' Association figures showing the number of mortgage approvals rising for the second consecutive month to 23,376.
