English Heritage is launching a campaign to discourage unsuitable improvements to unlisted properties in conservation areas with particular reference to plastic-framed windows and doors. Other bodies such as the Georgian Group and Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings call for more powers to be given to local authorities to issue restraining orders in conservation areas.
