Regular survey shows that in May 2009 the house market continues to improve. New buyer enquiries increased for the seventh consecutive month while new instructions to sell fell further. The seasonally net adjusted balance of surveyors reporting falling prices rather than increasing prices is now at -44.1%. This is the best result since November 2007. The average number of unsold houses keeps on reducing. Confidence in both sales and price outlook continues to improve. London remained the strongest region. On the opposite, West Midlands is the only region in England and Wales to show a fall in the net price balance.
