Reports that in the second quarter 2009, construction workload declined across all sectors, remaining in negative territory, except in non-housing public works. 26% of surveyors report a decline in activity compared to 45% in the first quarter 2009. This is the best reading since the second quarter 2008. Private housing experienced a sharp improvement as 28% of surveyors reported a drop in workloads compared to 66% in the last quarter of 2008. Outlook is slightly less negative for the next 12 months, particularly in workload.
