Reports on house building starts and completions during the period of October to December 2009 in the England. Updates statistics published in November 2009. Accompanying tables are available alongside this document on the website. From October to December 2009, there were 21 880 seasonally adjusted house building starts in England. An estimate of 28 200 houses were completed in the last quarter of 2009, down by 3% compared to the previous quarter. Annual housing completions in England totalled 118 000 in the 12 months to December 2009, down by 17 per cent compared with the 12 months to December 2008.
