UK commercial development grew in May with rising private sector activity offsetting falling public sector development. Almost 22% of commercial developers signalled a rise in total activity in May against 18% reporting a reduction. Little change registered in the Total Commercial Development Activity Index at +4.1% in May over +4.0 % in April. Higher levels of total commercial development now recorded for three of last four months. Developers are most optimistic about industrial/warehouse activity but confidence in the office and retail/leisure sectors has eased since April.
