UK house prices have increased by 9.8% since June 2009 and were unchanged from May 2010. The mix-adjusted average house price was £210 775 in June 2010 (not seasonally adjusted). UK house prices rose by 0.8% in the quarter ending June 2010 compared with a rise of 2.8% in the quarter ending March 2010 (seasonally adjusted). Annual average house prices rose by 10.5% in England, 3.7% in Scotland and 13.5% in Wales but fell in Northern Ireland by 7.7%. Annual average house prices paid by first time buyers in June 2010 were 10.3% higher than a year ago. By comparison average house prices paid by former owner occupiers were 9.8% higher. Annual average house prices paid for new properties in June 2010 were 9.0% higher than a year ago. By comparison average house prices paid on pre-owned dwellings were 10.0% higher.
