North Thames Regional Health Authority v Sheppard Robson and others - 1996 - Construction Law Journal [1996] 12 CLJ 187-205(10) .

CA 21 December 1995. N entered into a management contract with John Laing (L) for the construction of the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. There were arbitration clauses in the contract between N, L and the consultants and in the contract between L and the subcontractors. Delays occurred and there were disputes over the construction of the time provisions in both sets of contracts. N commenced proceedings for declaratory relief concerning construction of all the contracts including the subcontracts. Defendants declared that N had no locus standi and the court agreed. N appealed. "Held" N lacked the necessary locus standi. Appeal dismissed.
