Proposals for changes to planning application fees in England [electronic resource]

Seeks views on proposed changes to the planning application fees regime which would decentralise responsibility for setting fees to local planning authorities. Councils would not be allowed to make a profit on the fees but could recover the actual cost of submitting an application. The proposals would be implemented from April 2011, with a six month transition period until October 2011 if they are accepted and approved by parliament. The consultation closes on 7 January 2011.
