Coastal erosion and flooding consultation invites views on how capital grant in aid is allocated to projects in England. A change in the system is proposed whereby national budgets are no longer focused on the costs of managing risk but pay for a share of the benefits when risk outcomes are achieved. It is hoped that the changes would mean that more projects would proceed than under the present system. The consultation ends on the 16 February 2011.
