Uplands Policy Review document is launched setting out a wide range of commitments by Government to enable the English uplands to become more economically, socially and environmentally sustainable. Key measures include a promise that every hill farmer eligible to enter Uplands Entry Level Stewardship - the key environmental management scheme for hill farmers will be able to do so and a new rural Community Broadband Fund worth up to £20m will be set up to allow local communities to apply for help with small scale broadband projects. Further announcements will be made on these measures in the coming months.
