"Alliance & Leicester Building Society and others v Edgestop Ltd and others" ChD 9 March 1994. The court held that the firm of surveyors in this action, Hamptons, was vicariously liable for fraudulent valuations conducted by one of its staff, to the extent of the loss suffered by clients relying on that employee`s advice given in the firm`s authority.
