Recommendations as to how the property industry can support local communities to take on additional powers and responsibilities to help deliver increased and better development under government plans for localism in England. These ideas include developers consulting more with communities before initiating projects, the need to re-examine the role of local authority planning officers and the property industry doing more to support the community led housing sector. The Commission is looking for an early formal response from both Government and the property profession.
