This report was prepared by the National Self Build Association (NaSBA) on behalf of the joint Government-Industry Self Build Working Group that was set up in early 2011 to look at what could be done to grow the sector. Looks at the key challenges, lessons from international self build housing practices (Ireland, Scotland, Germany, the Netherlands, Australia and the United States), alternative procurement models, land and procurement models, lending and finance, regulation and red tape, the self build industry, and an action plan summary.
