Headline statistics are: the total volume of construction output in the second quarter of 2011 rose by 2.3 per cent compared with the first quarter of 2011; the total volume of construction output in the second quarter of 2011 rose by 0.8 per cent compared with the same quarter in 2010; all new work rose by 3.1 per cent and repair and maintenance rose by 0.7 per cent; all new work increased by 0.3 per cent and repair and maintenance (R&M) increased by 1.8 per cent compared with the same quarter in 2010.
