£1.2m project gives an insight into how the Green Deal could work with social housing. With more than 200 homes taking part in the project initial findings show that there is a gap of approximately £3 000 per property between the net cost of carrying out the works and the value of energy savings. Also trials with a low package of works to the value of £6 500 (which is indicative of the Green Deal) the reduction in carbon emissions was only 18%.
