In the light of the recent outbreak of Legionnaires Disease at BBC Broadcasting House, this article examines the health risks of water systems such as the Legionnella bacterium, humidifier fever and faecal contamination, before describing how these risks can be eradicated by proper deep cleaning of water systems.
