Report warns that human influence on the climate system is clear and growing and if left unchecked will increase the likelihood of severe and irreversible impacts for people and ecosystems. However, options are available including adapting to climate change by supporting economic diversification but this is not enough and substantial and sustained reductions of greenhouse gas emissions are essential in order to limit the risks of climate change.
