The Heat Network (Metering and Billing) Regulations 2014 [electronic resource]

Came into force on 18 December 2014 except for Regulation 9 which came into force on 31 December 2014 and Regulations 4(4) and 6 which come into force on 31 December 2016. Sets out requirements for suppliers of communal and district heating systems to ensure that users are billed for actual consumption and their obligation to inform the National Measurement Office of the presence of communcal heating systems by 30 April 2015. By 31 December 2016 viability assessments must be carried out to see if it is cost effective and technically feasible to install meters to monitor individual consumption of heating, cooling or hot water.
