Planning obligations
- 2004
- RICS News Service 9 January 2004 (2) .
RICS has suggested a range of improvements to government proposals on planning obligations. These obligations make developers donate to the local community through cash or a contribution towards local infrastructure. RICS has some concerns about the new proposals including the fact that there is no detail on changes to current planning obligations (s106) system and that authorities must not be able to divert receipts to cover general expenditure unrelated to developmental impacts.
