"RICS Commercial market survey - England and Wales" for the fourth quarter 2003 shows demand for business premises up after 11 quarters of decline. 4% more surveyors reported rising demand than falling. New occupier enquiries have increased and surveyors expect rents in the first quarter of 2004 to go up for the first time in two and a half years. In London, 35% more surveyors reported increased demand for office space than in the previous quarter, although the rental outlook is still negative. Retail and industrial property activity remained unchanged.
