New rights for tenement owners

The Tenements (Scotland) Bill will grant new rights to homeowners living in tenements, flats, high rise blocks and villas, and will apply to both residential and commercial properties. It is intended to ensure that repairs and maintenance is carried out under a fairer system. The Bill will introduce are a management scheme for every tenement setting out maintenance and management. Majority decision making will apply where no other procedure is provided, whilst owners will be obliged to contribute, usually equally, to the maintenance of the important parts of the tenement. http://www.scotland.gov.uk/pages/news/2004/02/SEc3 90.aspx
