Money Laundering Regulations 2003 come into force in the UK from 1 March. Estate agency has been named for the first time as an area of concern says RICS, along with art, antiques and other high value goods as market places vulnerable to abuse. RICS has published guidance for agents who auction property which is an area where cash purchases can be accepted by some auctioneers. Property professionals will now be required to verify buyers' credentials to a greater degree if cash is taken over Euro 15 000.
