Growth in manufacturing continued in February but at a slower rate than January according to the latest figures from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS). A rise in factory output meant expansion was recorded for the eighth month in a row. However the CIPS "Purchasing managers' index fell from 55.8 in January to February's posting of 53.2 reflecting slower growth of both output and new orders.
