Two reports from the learning network Regional Futures - part of the sustainable development charity Forum for the Future - argue that, far from being a burden for businesses, sustainable approaches can increase profitability. Clusters of businesses allow for sharing of transport costs, sharing infrastructure and waste facilities. The report also calls for regional development agencies to be more proactive in the promotion of sustainable development particularly among small and medium-sized enterprises.
