DEFRA is consulting on the draft guidance document "Remediation of land affected by contamination - a regulatory summary". The guidance has been developed in response to the Kirby report "Remediation permit - towards a single regeneration licence". The draft guidance aims to improve the understanding of what the different regulatory regimes require in terms of investigative and remedial works. The consultation closes on 16 June 2004.
