Market towns threatened by uniform development

Market towns threatened by uniform development - 2004 - CPRE Press Release (17/04) 17 March 2004 (3) .

CPRE survey "Market towns: losing their character?" highlights that small towns are in danger of losing their distinctiveness due to uniform development. This leaves them with serious traffic congestion and stretched services. Some towns may become dormitories with new estates adding to the number of people who commute to work elsewhere. http://www.cpre.org.uk/news-releases/news-rel-2004 /17-04.htm
