New legislation means that neighbours who cannot resolve their disputes over high hedges can appeal to local authorities to intervene. Government has launched a consultation on how such complaints should be handled. Issues covered include what level of fees local authorities should charge, how authorities should assess whether a hedge is causing problems and how any appeals against an authority's decision should be handled.
