RICS seeks to adopt FSA rule

RICS is considering raising its status, following the Law Society's lead, to become a designated professional body. This would enable RICS to regulate managing agents' involvement in arranging insurance. Members would benefit as they would not have to pay Financial Services Authority subscriptions of more than a £1 000 on top of their RICS subscriptions in order to carry on doing business.
