CBI's latest 'Monthly industrial trends survey - March 2004' shows that UK manufacturing order books are now at their best level for more than three years. Both domestic and export orders have improved for the period. 803 of the manufacturers who responded to the survey 21% said total orders were above normal and 29% said they were below. This balance of minus 8% compares favourably with minus 15% in the previous survey.
