DEFRA has released additional guidance for land managers on appeals against inclusion of land on the Countryside Agency's provisional open access maps. The guidance is available at http://www.defra.gov.uk/wildlife-countryside/cl/gu idance.pdf. Appeals are dealt with by the Planning Inspectorate and more information on the appeals process can be found at http://www.planning-inspectorate.gov.uk/access/. The Countryside Agency will issue a conclusive map after all appeals have been dealt with.
