House prices rose by a seasonally adjusted 2.1% in April according to the latest "Nationwide monthly review" with the annual rate of house price inflation reaching 18.9%, the highest level since June 2003. The average house price is now £145 918, indicating a price rise of more than £100 per day. The price increase forecast for 2004 is 15%.
