Foresight have published a report "Foresight flood and coastal defence project", which highlights that building homes away from areas at risk from flooding could involve a greater use of greenfield sites. The report, produced for DEFRA, warns that building on brownfield land, which is often on floodplains, will need adequate protection against flooding.
