Number of decent homes up - 2004 - ODPM News Release (2004/0115) 5 May 2004 (3) .

The ODPM has announced the number of non-decent social homes has been reduced by 1m since 1997. Plans to reduce this figure by a further 170 000 homes have been boosted with up to £3bn. Fifty-eight new schemes are planned featuring the installation of new windows, kitchens, bathrooms, insulation and central heating.
