Considers the compulsory purchase provisions of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Bill Part VIII clause by clause. Key changes to existing compulsory purchase procedures are contained in cl98 amending the power of compulsory purchase conferred on local authorities by the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 s226. Cl102 provides a statutory definition of the valuation date for the purposes of assessing compensaton for the compulsory purchase of land, and cls105-108 introduce a scheme of loss payments for those with an interest in land which is the subject of compulsory purchase.
