Retailers called on to help policy

Retailers called on to help policy - 2004 - Planning (for the Natural and Built Environment) (1568) 7 May 2004, 4(1) .

A report on improving competitiveness by the Retail Strategy Group has called on retailers to be more involved in planning policy. The report argues for greater co-operation between retailers and government and for retailers to engage with regional planning bodies in preparing guidance at a regional level. This would help the planning system work more effectively and provide protection from larger shopping centres.
