Report highlights waste deficiency - 2004 - Planning (for the Natural and Built Environment) (1568) 7 May 2004, 3(1) .

The Environmental Services Association (ESA), a trade body representing waste management operators, has published a report claiming that 3 000 new facilities are needed to recycle, recover, compost and treat the amount of waste currently sent to landfill. ESA has called on government to help deliver the facilities required to provide a sustainable future. "Land-use planning for sustainable waste management" is available to view on the ESA website, http://www.esauk.org/documents/work/reports/landus eplanning.pdf.
