Government puts design codes to test - 2004 - Building Design 1625 (14 May 2004) (1) .

Six major housing developments will take part in a pilot project to test design codes on more than 10 000 new homes. The pilots will provide comparison with traditional developments to see if design codes accelerate delivery and improve design quality. The government would drop backing of the new codes if the projects failed.
