The winners of the 2004 RICS awards have been announced. The awards recognise excellence in built environment projects and a commitment to value for money and sustainability. The 2004 awards attracted over 160 entries from across the globe. The 2004 Building of the Year was won by Douglas House, a young people's hospice in Oxford, which provides residential care for patients with life-limiting illnesses. Awards were also made in the categories, building conservation, community benefit, regeneration and sustainability.
